AmpliTube CS App Reviews

Disappointing!

When I bought the iRig at the music store, the packaging said the corresponding app was free. Its only now that Im downloading it that I discover that theres nothing free about this thing... Im to be nickelled and dimed to death!! IK, I dont appreciate your business methods. Im taking the iRig back, and Im not going to be your customer anymore, and that includes your DAW plug-ins. Apple! Dont let developers advertise a product as "free" or "included" when its not!

its getting better all the time

Thanks for now including Audiopaste and Audiocopy - essential to any music app - also thanks for the quick customer support on issue I had. Just to let any other users and potentialm users know, if you lose your in app purchase, like I did, you just have to go through the purchase steps again BUT it will NOT charge you again. There is some misleading info on the net after all.

Fail on the free app

40$ for the iRig + 20$ for app are you kidding me? I can have a real amp for 200$!!!

Bass players BEWARE

All over the literature and box the product states "plug in your guitar or bass" "use your guitar or bass" "plug in your guitar or bass", however this FREE app has no stock bass amp included. That is an in-app purchase for $4.99. Not impressed

breaks compatibility with 2nd gen iPod touch

This is the software for the iRig. The iRig is supposed to be compatible with the 2nd gen iPod touch. However, version 2.5 of Amplitube cannot be used with the 2nd gen ipod touch. This means all youll get for your $40 is a way to plug your guitar or bass into the iPod touch. You will not be able to use all the recording or effects features as advertised on the company website or the iRig box. IK Multimedia support cant help you with getting older versions of the software. When contacted they said they might either change the software or change their packaging. TLDR - iRig box says compatible with iPod touch 2nd generation, this is the software for it, but version 2.5 isnt compatible with the 2nd gen.

Purchases should be transferable

Please make purchases transferable to full version, thank you. Plus app crashes when loading projects recorded before latest update.

Great little tool.

I purchased an iRig and downloaded amplitube and I have to say Im perfectly happy with it. Its nice to just plug in a fiddle around with out dragging out the amp and pedalboard. My wife loves the headphone option :). For all of the negative reviews because of the cost if extras in app, these developers put a lot of manpower into making these things sound decent. Anything worth doing, shouldnt be free. Dont be cheapskates. I only wish I had an iPad so the interface was bigger but soon enough...

Really disappointed.

I just bought the iRig a few hours ago from the store. I was anxious the whole way home to try it out. I thought I would have been able to play my guitar and my bass with my iPod, so I wont have to buy a bunch of expensive pedals; unfortunately, Im not impressed. Firstly, the iRig device is way too quiet. I can barely hear a thing out of out. I decided to plug it to my 100w amplifier, and fiddle around with Garage Band. After cranking up the volume all the way (and hearing loud static noise) my guitar was somewhat audible. Secondly, the iRig app keeps crashing. I even tried rebooting twice, and re-installing three times. Very unimpressed.

Buyer Beware!

This is a fantastic app. Its very polished; it looks incredible, and it works exactly as it should. The effects are great, and the 8-track Mixer is a nice touch. Id like to give it 5 stars, and indeed I would have…if not for their very questionable practices regarding in-app purchases. If you buy the free version, begin loading it up with in-app purchases such as effects pedals and/or the 8-track mixer, and then decide to upgrade it to the full, paid version…GOTCHA! You discover that IK Multimedia will not transfer your in-app purchases to the upgraded version. You are expected to buy all of those in-apps AGAIN! They do not connect your purchases with you, the user; instead they are tied to the app. Similarly, if you bought the app on your iPad to learn how to use it, and then want to use the smaller form-factor iPhone or iPod Touch to play the gig…GOTCHA again! They will not transfer your in-app purchases to your other devices either. I was so terribly disappointed to discover this unethical practice from a company that I was initially so excited about. Dont let their "Musicians first" slogan fool you; its clearly money first. At the very least they should have written something about this in their descriptions, so we know what were getting into. I hope this helps someone to avoid being unpleasantly surprised like I was. I really love the app…I just dont love this company anymore.

False Advertising

Contrary to what is written on the box of the iRig hardware, you cannot use it with a 2nd generation iPod touch. When I contacted their customer support, the solution that they offered was for me to buy a new iPod.

false adverting!

well its good to see that other buyers feel the same about ik as me. i recently purchased the in app hendrix bundle as directed on their website. To my surprise there were no presets. So i posted on their forum n a techie responded saying ya there will be an update.. of course after moving my post to an obscure category? after i question iks business practices he moved the dialogue to a private message n then he banned me from the forum. i did not rant or curse but simply said that this was wrong. i guess i am going to report them to apple because i find them very unprofessional n are damaging the integrity of the apple store. hopefully apple can convince them to improve their business practice merry xmas all

No Sound

Cant get any sound out of it. Frustrating. Returning it. Review doesnt allow zero stars!

Slow and poor

I did NOT like this app. I bought the iRig for my son and spent over an hour trying to make it work on his iPod touch. The touch controls have a huge lag. Couldnt find the free effects. Still cant figure out how to use them. POOR user interface. Not simple to setup

Very disappointed!

Keeps crashing when getting to the amp!!! This is rediculous!

Crashes

Im so sick of trying to open the app, only for it to crash immediately after. Fix the bugs before you decide to put anymore functions on it! It was very useful when it actually worked properly!.

How to shut it off?

App wont stop,

Tuner

I use this app purely for the tuner it is the best tuner in the app store very accurate and easy to use

In App Purchase

Its so unclear what you are buying with "in-app purchases" inside AmpliTube. I thought I was upgrading to the pro version for $14.99 and instead got a bunch of drum packs. Id ask for my money back but its really not worth the battle. Instead I paid $5 for GarageBand and have way more effects, can record many tracks, and am not burdened with pop ups trying to sell me additional in-app purchases. GarageBand works great with the iRig so see you later AmpliTube...you are rip off artists and we are no longer friends.

Bad Update

I used to love and use the app everyday. But with this update I keep getting a lot of feedback. It is super frustrating, please fix it.

Amplitube.

After the latest update the built in mic no longer works. Way to go. Crap
